Not that it matters though.
you really think thats ugly? i think its beautiful. i have have the injen cai and i hate how naked it leaves the engine bay. looks very sharp and professional to me.

I was curious however about the sound. i havent heard the new comptech set up, but this looks pretty similar in design. i m guessing they should sound the same. the injen cai is a bit obnoxious when vtec kicks in. its def louder than my apex exhaust.

Dude no way you gained 15~19 rwhp with that set-up. Unless you dynoed on the same day with and without that intake those numbers are bogus. Yeah, like the guy who swapped the Neuspeed exhaust out for stock gained 18 rwhp. It's not realistic numbers. First off it is not a straight forward install if you have a LHD vehicle. You need to reroute the AC lines to install. Unless they came out with a LHD version which the last time I checked was not going to happen since there was such little interest. ARC themselves claimed very little HP increase (a couple was what was told to 1Randyc when he bought it from them) so your 15~19 is out of this world.

Oh yeah, I know you are happy with your set-up but did you need to post it in 10 seperate forums?

I'm curious about how heavy is the ARC intake? compares to Mugen's and Spoon's.

Spoon is just a CF duct and weighs probably 3lbs at most, probably closer to 2lbs (but you still have to account for the stock intake). Mugen is full CF and saves you 5lbs over stock. This is full Ti and by the looks might weigh a little more than stock. Then again it's probably a very thin layer of Ti so maybe not. But seriously weight is not a big issue with any of these set-ups

Isn't there a top lid on this? I think it has a slit in the front for air intake?

I'm not familiar w/ the ARC system. How does it work? I assume the filter is on the passenger side but what is that bulky metallic elbow joint on the driver's side? Also, where is the air drawn in?

I agree w/ turbo_pwr on the suspicious hp gain (especially w/ a setup that mimics stock setup). I would think the max hp gain would be from a ram-air from the hood (driver's side) right into the throttle body (w/ filter and plumming in btwn- a la WRX setup). This setup will enable you to have the coolest air while maintaining intake velocity (ideal for maximizing hp in normally aspirated engines). This is what I would like to do to our car. We're still working on a way to do this (gonna have to find an aftermarket hood to cut up ).
