Fire ball pop pop under hard accel... yes. Prolonged silly camp fire during slight accel... no.

I've seen misfiring turbo systems and straight pipes on FD3S's. Infact been burned by a straight pipe (long story), and the ones I saw were all bursts of flame, not showey like this.

If that was an actualy performance mod you would have seen it on the D1/JGTC Rx7's. Those flames arent beneficial imo.

Under hard acceleration and deceleration my catless WRX would shoot a little fire..but nothing like that.

On MTV's "Pimp My Ride", they actually did it for someone's car, but had to remove it when the producers found out because they thought it was too dangerous.

I'm very weary on the setup. Basically you run another fuel line to the exhaust tips, if the exhaust is not hot enough to ignite it, you have to add a bit of spark as well. Same design as afterburners on jet planes, except on cars it does jack.

The flames can't be cat-less engine flames. They are not shooting out fast enough. Atleast I don't think so.

[QUOTE=Driv300mph,Oct 28 2004, 06:27 PM] I had a 2nd Gen RX-7 w/ duals around 8mo. ago -- it shot flames too sometimes.

running rich?

that is just pointless, honestly its not doing anything ....RICE!
i can understand a backfire because of a turbo/running rich, but flamethrowers are just pointless... makes it look bad
