[QUOTE=s2kjay,Jun 12 2008, 11:22 AM]hey some people who own an s arent as fortunate to have the right paying job etc. to afford the parts that those highly respected companies dish out. it kinda goes back to the whole rota thing.(paying for quality or lack thereof) i say to each his own. not to say that im gonna get the kit myself. but just stickin up for those who dont have as thick a wallet as everyone else. i would love to buy the real 1000+ kit but a college kid has bills to pay hahah.

you get what you pay for right?

I would pick it up too...Replica is ok so longs you don't go around claiming its authentic...My e46 M had replica CSL parts and you don't hear anyone on M3forum bashing me. In fact most people run vorstiener CSL parts on the forum. Who wants to pay $2k for a real trunk?
Let me ask you a question? What do you do for a living?

They are expensive for a reason. Its not like they were developed for free. If you cant afford the real parts due to other obligations then you shouldnt be able to get them period. Hey, sucks for you but you have other stuff going on. There shouldnt be any "fake" or ripoff parts available. I absolutely hate Rota. If you cant afford wheels then you should stick with stock wheels or something cheap of its own design, NOT a design that someone stole from someone else. I hate companies that bite off of others designs stealing the development costs and money out of the pockets of other companies. Back in the day (early, early 90'S) you stayed lowered on stock wheels until you could afford the wheels you wanted. There were no ripoffs until Konig and Rota copied the Work RS Beta...
AMEN! brother!

edit* hence why i have the amuse replica lip, and it was ruined twice already

why blame those who buy fake parts? blame the damn company that make replicas
They are just as guilty for supporting them.

Thats like saying dont lock up the person who helped the killer kill another person. Lock up the killer only....Thats retarded everyone is guilty, from the replicator to the supporter.

OMG who cares, those JDM company are ripping people the F**K off, sure they have all they're "R&D" & a name, but a fiberglass kit does not cost $2000 +++ to make. This kit is good, it looks just like the j's and you dont have to worry about it getting destroyed because its so cheap & fitment looks awsome. I just cancelled my order for a real Js bumper and opted for this. Once receivec and installed Ill show you guys the pics.

Every time I read your argument about getting ripped of by Japanese companies I cant help but laugh at your avatar... JDM as ****, huh?

Ripping people off ?! Yeah, not really. They need to turn a profit in order to stay afloat and they also have to develop the parts and SPEND MONEY to do so. Its not like the products they are creating just make and design themselves. That occurs only for the knock off companies. The companies also do wind tunnel testing, track testing and maybe even competing in races with the product. Oh, I forgot all that is free too. The option shouldnt be there to get the knock offs. You should either have to spend the money to get the product or not be able to get it at all.

I dont give a shit if there is the possibility that there may be damage to the part. You have go to pay to play as the other poster above has stated. I agree . I drive around daily on a set of Work wheels... If something happens to them I would get mad, but its the price I have to pay to drive around on them...

How would you feel if you came out with a product of your own? You spent months or maybe even years designing it and testing it. 4 months after you unveil your product and are trying to recoup your losses and development costs someone buys one of your products and copies it. They have no money into development and are able to sell the product at HALF of your cost. They may not steal ALL of your sales, but they sure steal some of your would be profits. How would that make you feel? Would you have the same attitude? I think not...

I hope they don't make canards or the J's carbon GT wing...

I gotta get the version two lip now so I don't look like I got a replica kit.

Get the real thing, it's priceless. Fits perfect.
