But, I was thinking of custom rigging a sort of blow off valve for the S/C. I want to put a pulley on that is good for say 12 psi and just blow everything off past say 8psi. This way I can hit 8psi at around 6k rpm's and hold it all the way to 9k. The only problem is though that because i'm using a smaller pulley I'm going to be sucking more power from the engine to run the charger. So I might have to run it at more like 9 psi to get the same power at 8 psi because i would really be making 12 psi, but just blowing off the rest. I guess someone is trying the same thing with a S/C for the NSX.
I had an idea for a continously variable S/C, but that is really hard. they actually had one for a packard back in the 30's..or sometime around there. It was pretty cool. It used gears and belts to keep a constant boost of like 6psi..very cool. Way to much trouble though. the blow off configuration seems much easier and more reliable. It would be really cool if someone could make something like this and sell it as an add-on for the vortech kit.

I am still learning to maximize cornering forces, and threshold brake to the correct speed for a corner; if I can do those well (if ever), I might consider FI. If I drove as well as davepk, I'd definitely go that way.

actually RT i may try this exact thing if I ever order a S/C kit...I will probably just end up selling the S for a 911 or C6 later!!

yeah, i know what you mean. that is probably true. I am just not sure what exactly would happen, but it isn't something that a good day of tuning couldn't figure out!!
by the way. i would want to use a wastegate not blow off valve. Man this really shouldn't be too hard....i must be missing something. maybe i'm gonna screw the mass air meter up by weighing the air and then venting it off....i guess i could route it back through my air intake ...i don't know. If i ever get some more money ..i will try it and see how it goes!

The Comptech sure is lookin good right about now...lol!
But I think I am gonna wait till some better numbers are posted.
I still think Randy's setup is sweet so far! So it may cost more money but it gets the job done.
Troup, hang in there...all this work will pay off. Maybe you will catch a break in the weather and it might cool
off. Good luck!!
