Thank your for mentioning me in that list Mr. Flowers

I am glad most of you in here agree on this topic
You bought a pretty nice AP1, drove it for a few days, then proceeded to completely tear down, modify, and rebuild nearly every part of the car in your garage. Yeah, that's a build.
Agreed wholeheartedly. It's rather difficult to have anything really original, pretty much everything that can be done to an S2000 already has. What he, and quite a few others, Dr. Jekyll, etc did was imagination, originality for a purpose. Not "look at s2ki and buy the stuff everyone else has to fit in". I despise cookie-cutter cars.

Don't even really care for catalog cars, all it turns into is a dick-measuring contest about how big one's wallet is.

I'll let Doug know how you feel!

I think if you would have seen MugenAP2's car in person, your face would have melted off. Catalog car, x100.

like Doug's car because of the meticulousness of it. Not necessarily because it's a catalog car, which it isn't really. He picked some choice parts and used them to a great looking effect. Not overdone, not attempting to gain e-fame. You don't see him posting up on here about how awesome his car is, or how great the parts are because they cost so much. I'm talking about the ASM whores around here, or the J's racing wannabe racecars. If I see one more "just got another ASM part" around here, I'm going to flip.

Did I car for MugenAP2's car? As unpopular as my opinion on it is, no. When you cut up a titanium strut bar, making it essentially useless, but leave both ends connected to the shock towers just to prove how much of a baller you are, you've lost my respect.

My biggest pet peeve is how the word 'build'. It implies something is manufactured. Most of what I see on the internet are cars that are disassembled and re assembled with bought parts. A build is custom one off things, blood sweat and tears, and engineered solution to meet or exceed new performance goals. A true build cant be bought from an internet webstore.

OP I like the idea, and keep doing you. Inspiration can be found anywhere
This....

There are a few cars in that collage that are awesome. Hanzel's is a great example but some of the others.... A lot of the guys on here are on instagram but you probably don't see them because they don't really give a shit about the E-fame that 90% of the cars in your collage are seeking.
there you are! I knew you were on the forum somewhere. I had your car on my tumblr/collage but didn't know who you were/ if you had an IG. lol

Even if I didn't make the cut that's pretty cool and I appreciate it. I do have an Instagram. If you want to give me a follow my IG name is in my sig

Honestly, this is where I start laughing. He did it SPECIFICALLY to troll people.... like you! lol At the end of the day, he doesn't take himself too seriously, and wasn't in it for the internet fame. Like a real enthusiast, he built his car to please himself, and him cutting his strut bar to make his intake arm fit was, honestly, hilarious.

I don't care what you bought or what you built if you don't know how to drive it you are still a cock bag in my book.

Too many car guys not enough drivers.
So someone has to know how to drive well to like cars?
That isn't at all what I said. I don't give a shit if someone like cars, who doesn't like cars? Cars are awesome. Whoopty f@#king doo. People who like cars but don't know f@#k all about driving is exactly why you see undriveable stanced out cars everywhere.

Not to keep us really sidetracked, but you do realize the functional part of the Asm strut tower was still maintained right? The actual strut tower itself has nearly no effect due to the crossbeam accomplishing exactly what most strut bars do.

As far as Doug's car, it's definitely a Mugen catalog car. He'll admit to it haha. And the Asm obsession is because the parts are incredible quality. Better than OEM often times. I'll be sporting quite a bit of Asm parts on my car because the quality, fitment and attention to detail is honestly second to none.

Eh, good for him I say. We each have our own tastes. I'm going to say troll level: expert, and accept it. Tell him I said well done when you see him. Although from this board and what I've seen of it in the years, he's pretty e-famous. Hell, I'm kind of e-famous for not liking anything. We all have our things.

The X-brace part that connects to the steering rack? Didn't look like it. But it's been years since I've even seen a picture of that car. I like Doug's car, idk. Maybe it's the color or his coolness. You know what I meant though, Kevin. I look in on your build on the rare occasion that I log into here. And it is spot on, especially with all of the fab work. I I wasn't dead set on OEM exterior panels, I might pick something up from them myself. Might go Amuse hood down the line.

I do not intend to put anyone down for not having a build. Everyone enjoys and appreciates the automotive culture in a different way. But its wrong to call it a build plain and simple. It doesnt make it lesser and I do not intend or insinuate as such. It would be the same situation if you said check out my red S2000 CR...and I said hey man thats not a red CR, its blue.

Its my same pet peeve when people post pictures in a public forum, and even worse use the words "tell me what you guys think?" and someone says I dont like this or that. He is then considered a hater or being negative. An opinion cannot be negative and stating that opinion is not hating, its sharing that opinion on a public forum which is meant exclusively for sharing ideas and opinions. Not everything is sunny not everything is positive. If you didnt want anything negative to be said stay off the internet and just go for a drive or look at it sitting in the driveway.

Of course there are people who are derogatory and abusive for not reason, but calling a car ugly or saying they dont like it is not "hating" its expressing opinion
