GT Motoring Time Attack Street Class DC5 - in car
This was from a lapping day over Memorial Day. I went just to see how the minor changes in weight, larger exhaust, relocated intake and wider wheels and tires would affect lap times.
Last year, the fastest the car would run was about a 1:38. I had a pretty decent out-lap, although my fastest time for the session was down to 1:32.9. Unfortunately my battery ran out right after the first lap (go figure) so I don't really have a way to show the car getting into so late braking and some quick cornering.
Because I'm only running on street tires, it's an added challenge as the braking zones literally change with almost every lap. It's actually not a bad gig given that I'm normally running in Time Attack where all I need is one fast lap, but over a stretch of 20 minutes, it's funny to see lap times go from 1:37 down to 1:32s for a few laps and then eventually back up to around 1:36 by the end of the session. Definitely a good way for me to learn and feel out the car though.
Since I don't have any software to edit .MOV files yet, you'll have to cut through the first 2 minutes or so (preferably through the part where I stall the car at first).
Not a bad day though, given that I actually turned the fastest laps for the day, which came as a shock given that I was sharing the track with some race-prepped vehicles and some stupid-fast cars. The tighter 1.88 circuit was a huge factor in that as well...go figure.

As always, there's still room for improvement...need to find a better alternative to short-shifting the carousel/s-turn complex before the back straight of the track...but so far I've had better luck with that than anything else. Corner entry could actually be a little smoother at a few points, but a lot of that comes from the crazy differences in braking that I was experiencing. Great tool for learning though...I could make the jump to r-comps but I think there's still a lot I can learn on these street tires.

Thanks guys! I actually have another clip of the car passing a pretty quick S2000 from this site, but I figured it wouldn't be in good taste to post that, lol
