HRE's does cater to american sport and japanese cars. Look at their website and tell me it does not show they make wheels sizes/offsets for these cars.
http://www.hrewheels.com/ShowRoom/
NSX, CTS, EXT, Escalade, C5, Z06, C4, Camaro, Yukon, Suburban, Viper, Cobra, Navigator, Expedition, Thunderbird, S2000, all Lexus almost, RX7, 350z, Celica. That list shows they do cater to american and japanese cars. Yes their target maybe European cars, because european cars are more expensive and they figure those who can afford BMW, Ferrari, Lambo, Jags, etc can afford their wheels. Wheels" it'd be "HRE European Wheels". Same thing with Volk, they sold most of their wheels towards, honda, toyota, nissan....but of course they made sizes/offsets for other makes.
You can argue, hey HRE just put those list of cars because they share the same profile size as Euro cars. The fact is HRE put it on the site so they don't single the wheels to only European cars or else they lose a market that can possibly grow.

I think those are 18's right? Thats pretty small for a nice PORSCHE!!
I also think he got the wrong offset for that car, if I remember correctly most Porsche's have a fat ass lip when it comes to HRE's and even BBS (JAPANESE).
In my opinion if he wanted to go JDM he should have gotten LE-37's in 19x10's at least. If you guys want I'll post my friends M3 with those kind of rims.

in japan, that is.
or if you have the connection in the states.
The original post asked if it was HOT OR NOT.
I honestly, thought those rims look crappy on the car, so I left an explaination.
You coming out and talking about how he's an autocrosser or not has nothing to do with the subject of the post.
We're talking about aethetics not performance. Please read carefully what the original post states, before coming to conclusions.
By the way BBS is made in Japan. Many people get confused because alot of the european tuners use these wheels, but look at the label of any BBS wheel and you'll see a MADE IN JAPAN sign.

Well, to me, performance IS hot
It's just that there is no point on discussing whether those wheels look good or not when that wasn't what the owner had in mind when he bought them. He wanted to keep weight low and to stay within the class rules, so he bought those wheels regardless of what they looked like, what country they were made, whether the color or the lines matched the car or not, etc. If you buy something for show, then that's a different story and a discussion on looks would make sense.
BTW, BBS is a German company. Maybe they outsource labor, but they're still a German company, just like Toyota is a Japanese company even though they build Camrys in the US.
