I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the raccoon and cat pics. There's often quite a bit of blood and innards with fresh roadkill. Well thats what my experience has been at least. I was unfortunate enough to hit some possums several years ago and it was quite a mess. My car was relatively intact, but the poor creatures looked as if they were ripped apart.
