it probably has nothing to do with it, some mazda use a tapered seat, which is the same for most aftermarket rims.

honda always use accorn seat for their wheels, which is dangerious if mated with taper seat aftermarket wheels

it's probably failed because he put a set of SAE thread nuts on Metric bolts, i doubt he can break all 20 stud all at once
