Default Impressions of my new wheels?

These are some 19" Mahdi Caesar LS-5's I just got.

I wanted some feedback, cause I'm not sure of them. They screwed up the offset on the rear rims (40mm instead of the requested 52mm) which makes them stick out about 1/2", and the rub the fenders on hard bumps.

They're ordering me some new rear wheels, but I'm just thinking of cancelling the whole order and going for some HRE 547's.

Anyone have any opinions?

Thanks !!

Steve

Well, HRE's sure are nice, but these cost me less than 1/2 the price. Nevertheless.... opinions?

I think it's a nice looking 3 pc wheel, though I've never heard of the Mahdi Caesar. I would find out how much they weigh, and if they're forged or not. HRE's are custom made with correct offsets. They are forged so they're strong and as light as a wheel that big can be. Wheels like C5s and M5s are good looking, but they bend easy cuz they aren't forged for strength. Also, HRE's you can get the centers in any color you want. You can get them in different kind of finishes too, at extra cost of course. $3600 for HRE's sound like a good deal, but since Ben said he'll beat anybody's price just get a quote from him. You have nothing to lose.

HRE are awsome rimes.....they are meant to use for racing, Those rims you have on are really cool looking. But from what I see...I guess they would be cruzing rims. Maybe heavier and probably not forged. Correct me if I am wrong.

They look like rebadged Ronal LZ wheels.
I know that Ronal makes quality wheels but aren't they heavy.
Besides I think they look better on Audi.

Transio,
Your wheels look awesome, but others are bringing up good points.
If you are looking for quality (forged) and weight reduction, yours are probably not it (I'm not sure since I have not heard of your brand).
My take is this: Unless you can sell yours without a major loss, I would go back to your dealer with recourse and have them get you the 52mm offset that you ordered. Your wheel with the correct offset should not be rubbing at all.
I'm running into the same issue with my 17". I have a 40mm offset and they will rub occasionally during hard dips/bumps.

Good Luck,

Guys,

Thanks for the input.

I'm already getting new rear wheels from the dealer - the distributor made the mistake, so he's taking the loss. They're also gonna roll the front fenders so the front wheels won't rub on bumps.

I realize that these are not racing wheels - they're definitely more for show, and they weigh quite a bit - 21 lbs front, 23 lbs rear. Additionally, they're not forged. Nevertheless, they're a decent quality wheel, and I LOVE the way they look. I've been kinda wavering because I know HRE's are amazing quality and performance, but the reactions I've gotten to this thread have convinced me that for looks, these are indeed what I want.

Thanks !!!
