Very cool, the fact that the tech doesn't sweep all the way across the dash is definitely one of the AP2's weaker points.

Great job on the install. Pretty cool how you waited till it had the same exact mileage as well.

very cool. I wish mine went to 9k are there any real benefits to this though? There is so much garbage on the whole 9k in an ap2 thing so its difficult to determine the benefits. I have read the ap2 makes no power that high and it puts a ton of stress on the engine... However people stroke the ap1 and remain at the 9k rev...

props to you though. I would love to buy a euro cluster and do this.

It wasn't hard. All you have to do is get a 00-01 ECU, swap it in, and get the key(s) reprogram. Don't get the 02-03 ECU's, they run a little lean and you might throw a CEL.

The car may stall (once in a while) from idle the first week or two. I think it is like the ECU learning phase. After that the car runs just like an ap2...WITH 9K

Without having to discuss power dropping after 8k, I can say that shifting at factory redline is much better without the rev-limiter kick in at 8.2k. Reason being you can go several hundreds more rpm without worrying about the fuel cut-off and that feeling like you're hitting bricks.
