J's Racing 70RS C304R
The welds look ok to me...they are MIG when I guess most of you are looking for TIG. My guess is most of the critics here really have not seen a bad MIG weld. MIG isn't pretty for sure, but these welds look pretty nice as far as MIG goes.
At any rate, my J's importer just forwarded me this message:
"Even though the welding is not a problem to Japanese customers, it is clear that many customers overseas would like to have a better appearance. Therefore, in probably 1 month, J's Racing will start a new version of C304 stainless exhaust for overseas customers. The new C304 stainless exhaust will be welded by TIG welding method for better appearance. However, at the same time TIG welding will increase the cost by about $150.00 retail. As soon as we receive a new price list, I will notify you."
Re: "There is no penetration at all. Those are guaranteed to break in a short amount of time. "
The material is probably pretty thin here...only minimal penetration is needed, and too much discoloration in the part will result in a greater HAZ resulting in broken parts.

This one is out of hand. All that heat in the part...this thing is probably so brittle...
Ease up a bit guys...I am probably as well or more versed in welding here that 90% of you at least. These welds look perfectly adequate and proper for MIG. I will say though, for the cost, Fujitsubo makes a much better looking part because of their TIG process. Look for updated product from J's shortly.

The weld on the J's exhaust flange sucks. Wayyy to fast. I'm not impressed with any of the other welds either...the exhaust is what 16gauge? That's not extremely thin. You need more penetration than that.
The above Ti part ...proper heat for a Ti weat should have a straw color to it correct? I havent done much Ti work.
I weld for a living...so I guess I fall into that 10%
