J's Racing 70RS C304R
First, I see two very different things from the J’s Racing 70RS titanium version vs. stainless steel.
1.) The “J’s Racing” badge is completely different. Almost all J’s Racing products have the badge “J’s Racing Motorsport!, International Racing Team” written on them. Exhaust, Header and even the little stickers included with my intake had the print. None of them had the phrase: “J’s Racing – Made in Japan” on it. Of course there are always exceptions like the ETD and heatshield doesn’t have anything written on them.
2.) The craftsmanship is a complete mess. From the scratches on the exhaust and piping (pic #4,5,7) to the rough “half-effort” completed welds, I think you deserve some sort of explanation from such a reputable company.
Keeping in mind you purchased the Stainless-Steel version of the exhaust, I cannot compare apples and apples in this situation, but being an ex-owner of a J’s Racing 70RS (titanium) exhaust, I am going to provide my .02 anyways.
The J’s Racing 70RS (titanium) was top-notch quality in terms of both build and performance. The welds were phenomenal and the quality of the entire system far exceeded my expectations. The only system that came close in regards to “weld-quality” was the Amuse R1 Titan, which is also in the $2000+ range.
Honestly, I won’t judge the company and/or their products by just one exhaust out of “xxxx” number of exhausts they manufacture. Instead, I am the type to judge a company by their customer service and the way they will handle a situation when one (or more) of their products fail in the hands of their customers of even upon arrival (one of the reasons I am loyal to Costco).
If this happened to me, I would talk to the distributor and see if you can both come up with a solution. Because if this is how every Stainless-Steel J’s Racing 70RS system is put together, I must say I would stay away from this model from J’s Racing and order the Titanium systems. After all, quality and customer satisfaction to automotive enthusiasts is expected from a reputable company like J’s Racing and there goes a saying “you get what you pay for, you have to pay to play.”
Here are some full-sized high resolution images from the weld quality of my old 70RS system (titanium version).
BTW: Please excuse the long thread reply, but being an owner of a business myself, customer satisfaction and having a positive relationship with customers is my motivation for continuing my business. Thus is why I wanted to provide you with my positive experience and encourage you to resolve the mixed feelings and disappointment you have with the particular vendor/J's Racing.

Perfect reply there buddy, it defiantly will be going to J's I'm just hoping for a reply from them. I know mine isn't the only one I have a picture of the 70RS Dual with the same problem, if anything worse then my single.
I've been advised that the Ti exhaust are Machine weld which is one of the reasons the welds are perfect.
As for the Badge, this is their new badge they have it on their website.

hi everyone
this is Leo from JDM Concept, the official distributor for J's Racing product. I would like to give a bried explanation to the 304R exhaust.
First of all, i thank you everyone who has bought J's racing product. J's racing is a company that always has racing at their forefront. Their product is always first and foremost must perform.
Recently Murakami-san visited australia for time attack event in eastern creek raceway.
We chat quite a bit on the way back to the City where his hotel is located.
We talk about tuning companies in japan and we talk about how some company make product that didnt work and was all for the money profit only.
So i ask him what about J's Racing philosophy. He told me that J's Racing need to make money so that they can continue racing. It is a 50/50 balance as you know to have a racing car and team is expensive.
In essence both need to work together. People continue to buy their product because it is tested and proven. and the profit in return allow them to do what they love which is racing. (hence the name J's Racing)
anyway to tell you a secret i was in the sense indirectly involved in the 304R birth.
i remember talking and suggesting to murakami-san about creating a stainless steel version of their titanium of exhaust system as i was aware not everyone can afford titanium muffler but many would like to use them on their car.
soon after they started the with 304R muffler series which was very well received even in Japan.
from there they start production of the catback system.
as with any initial production, there was delay in manufacturing. i have been a js racing distributor for 6 years now and the 304R catback was the longest delay that i have ever experience. It was frustrating for us as well.
we have been ordering them quite regularly now as they are quite popular in australia and the time frame is getting better and better which shows that it was abnormal rather than the norm to have delay
just to let everybody know, i offer Vyets MONEY BACK when i know there was delay in manufacturing earlier this year. I told him i am sorry that it was late and he can have his money back if he cant wait that long.
With any sea vessel shipment, it takes time and unfortunately the sea vessel was hit with delay as well (even i cant believe this is happening)
Sea vessel was supposed to docked in early may but it wasnt available and my shipment was held. I have work wheels (which i am the distributor as well) in the same shipment and have both shipment delayed with the same vessel.
Anyway whats the story with the flag. The item is actually is not for sale item and Vyets wanted to buy them. I have decided to give it to him a GIFT because he has been very patient with the whole drama that has been going on. I know he would be very happy.
Coming back to the 304R catback. It is basically the cheaper version of the titanium exhaust.
I saw the welding on it and to me i dont think it is a big deal. i understand that people was jumping up and down because the welding is not as good as the titanium one.
It is really comparing apple and orange here as the 304R 70RS system the price is AUS$1150inc tax vs titanium 70RS at AUS$1890 inc tax. (60RS titanium cost $1685.00 inc tax)
(before anyone saying i can get cheaper in usa or wherever you are, please do bear in mind that australia has high import tax and over in australia, you cannot get this kind of price for a catback brand new)
the titanium exhaust is full machine welding
the 304R is semi machine welding
but we must remember that 304R is designed for budget conscious people. sure the welding is not as pretty as the titanium but J's racing always design their product for function first and foremost
and secondly in the context of making of 304R was the price. Even in Japanese retail, they are very cheap compared to mugen, spoon, fujitsubo, vision exhaust.
Personally i think 304R is highly desirable is it is cheap, light, sound good and it is functional. It goes under the car and it wasnt something that was meant to be showed off. The only think people will show off is how it sound which so far none say 304R has lousy tones.
I am sure they can put out the best welding out there but they know fully automated welding cost more money than semi automated welding and this money will be passed on to consumer which will raised the price of this exhaust. but their intention to create 304R is for the muffler to be affordable to all as they are aware not all can afford titanium muffler. it wasnt to replace the titanium muffler
I think welding should be judged on one thing only. It HOLD the muffler together. I have yet to come across J's racing exhaust fall apart but i have seen other brand fall apart
I have told Vyets that if it should fall apart let me know as we will fix it for him BUT i am very confident it wont.
I hope this explanation is helpful in understanding where it come from.
