Yes I could have reclear-coated the hood, but the cost was almost the same, and the shop said that they would have not been able to fix some of the chips and hairline cracks. Plus I wanted to go for the new look after almost 7 years now with the CF hood.

The hood itself looks mint now. They even painted the underside black as well as repainted the grill by the hood vent. I will see if I can find a local person with a better camera to take some upclose pictures.

I actually looked into it. The body shop refused to drill/install it because they think it will cause to hood to crack and I'm too chicken to do it myself.

You want to work your magic and come install it for me??

Looks good. I would put that wrap you advised on your hood to keep the paint from getting ruined.
