I love it but would put them further back to take advantage of leverage granted i Suppose it wouldnt take that much effort to shut the door where they are now...

What about a strap with one end attached to the upper door bolt, the other end to the lower door bolt rather than the loop?

Sturdier than I imagined. You can tug on the pretty hard. I think they would hold up just fine in everyday use short of grabbing them with both hands and jerking the door closed in one movement.

I thought about doing that as well. Kind of mimic the existing handle, only with a flatter strap instead.
