Just had to post this 'cause I'm fallin' in love...
Matter of fact, why don't you go to a dealership and test-drive one and thrash it for me, I trust your opinion more than any journalist, you bought an S2K didn't you
.
Just a thought, you might like it, for the duration of the drive that is...lol.

Lotus Cars USA CEO Arnie Johnson, the car will have 120hp Rover K-Series Engine, leather, AC, Stereo, and minor cosmetic changes to meet U.S. regulations. Later news states the 145hp GM EcoTec unit found in the Opel Speedster is to be the engine choice.
LOl They're quite a common sight on the roads over here although many of them are the basic Elise. There's always loads of 2nd hand ones for sale and they can often be had for silly money. I haven't driven one but I've sat in a few. I don't think you'd want to drive coast to coast in one on your side of the pond.
What do I think of it? I love it as does anyone with a love for cars. Apart from the die hard types many of them are second 'fun' cars. It started to rain just after this pic was taken and the chap suffered a lot of piss taking from S2000 owners doing the push button 6 sec roof up routine! In contrast the Elise roof is a notoriously fiddly job with about 3 pieces all to be assembled manually. I must say this chap had the job off to a fine art and managed the job commendably quickly.
LOl. I know I'd love it, but the S2000 pushes the practicality barrier for us sometimes!! If you want to know more about the car why don't you post in the UK Forum? Mikerich's son over there drives one, his second I think, and at least a couple of the guys have owned them.
