Default made my own intake today

Hey guys, well this morning I got bored and I was tried of my stock air box with a missing lid. So I decided to make my own intake. I got a Greddy AIRINX Filter and coupler from a friend for $20. I then just went to my local autozone and got a 3" peice of exhaust pipe and then powder coated myself with a black chrome color. No where around here has 45 degree elbows in 3" so for now im using my stock intake hose cut a little to make everything fit. I then just wrapped the intake pipe just for the hell of it. and put it all together and I am actually satisfied with the results for only $30 all together. It sounds nice and according to the butt dyno I can feel a slight difference, so I am happy. I know its pretty ghetto in a way but hey, its whatever you like right? So if anyone doesnt want to pay for an expensive intake and wants a cheap solution. This is a good way! Well here are a few pics:

If you were able to make the entire piece in the poweder coated pipe it wouldn't look all that bad. The foil wrapped part of the intake looks pretty ghetto. But if it works, I guess its all good.

Yeah thats what I was going to try and do, but I couldnt find any bends in that size right now. It wont be like this for long, ill just order a 45 degree coupler to make it look alot nicer.

haha dont worry guys I actually agree it does look ghetto. But that was about 30min of my time. Ill just get an elbow and stuff ordered and then take a few pics. Should make it look alot better. Its more fun making stuff for your car than just ordering something and knowing alot of ppl have the same thing as you. At least its unique!
