I like it. I agree though, you need to get an injen hydro shield. Maybe even make a small lip right where the edge of the hood is infront of the scoop so that way as your moving forward in the rain it won't just rush in there.

Is that one of those generic eBay intakes?

ebay short ram ftw, I had a little problem with heatsoak but seems you found a cure of it. I would also like to compliment your car it flows very well and seams stylishly simple

Thanks guys

Also I'm not worried about Rain water. I've hydrolocked an S before with an injen cold air intake submerging the filter during a flood.

The engine is not going to hydrolock with just some rain passing by the filter.

I've driven plenty times in the rain with this setup so far and hundreds of times with filters getting a bit of water mist

I will however create a shield to put in during heavy downpours just to ease the mind.

and yes generic ebay intake as it was the only one that positioned itself where I wanted it. cheap yet effective

no worries I didn't take it that way.

Ya I'd imagine without some sort of vent it would be pretty prone to heat soak.

The intake was only 25 bucks plus shipping... can't really beat that and was set up for DBW.
