<----Another Reason user here!

I love Reason for producing some fat beats. It is so easy to use for beginners but it still has hella depth in its features.

Let's here those beats Veilside
I been on some real gritty ish lately.... Making beats from wax, and my SP-404 sampler. What made me really like this idea, is that I found out that Madlib produced the "MadVillain" on the SP-404

So can you actually mix from the laptop?

Is the program similar to Serato Scratch Live?
Yes you can but you can also use an external mixer aswell.

Stick with 1200's. All the other tables are nice, but the 12 is still the ind standard.
The 57SL is real nice. It is a tie between the 57SL w/ a EFX-1000 unit, and the Pioneer 909 mixer. I love my 909. I think I am going to pick up a 57SL soon too.

Mik3- I highly recommend going to www.scratchlive.net/forums and registering. Once you are registered you can download the latest version w/o purchasing the SL1 interface...... You can start organizing all your music man. It will save a lot time if you do it now. Trust me. You can also D/L a program like Audacity, and hook your TT's to the line in of your computer... and start rippin ya Wax!!!
WOW thanks for the info I was thinking about how I would manage all my MP3's. Not to mention how I'm going to copy my wax.

I never liked Mac. Until I bought a Macbook about a year ago. Have not opened my PC since. Mac is the way to go with SSL. Look at any big name DJ using SSL...MAC! Less set up, no hassles, no viruses..... Mac is (IMO) way better!
Cool. That's what people who've converted have told me. I just have not heard any feedback from Serato users.

wow, I used to dj years ago, but never got into scratching. just tried to do good beat matching, and keep the speakers bangin. If I ever got back into it, i would want cd turntables, which you can do just about the same sh!t as vinyl.

for those of you who know who dj shadow is, he scratched dvds in concert a few years back. how dope is that?
I have to disagree with this. Nothing feels like vinyl. CDJ's are whack

that's what I have now. Besides Q's needles are 2x the cost.

As far as Serato; Mac or PC? I have a laptop, but I share it with my wife. I was thinking about getting a Mac, but Windows Laptop is cheaper. Any benefits with working serato on Mac vs. PC?

Sorry for all the questions, I've been listening to mixes on the radio and I've been wanting to practice my skills on the wheels of steel. And maybe I could finally knock down the flare and orbital
I have a PC right now but will be upgrading to a Mac to run Serato. Much smoother

"Yay" area DJ's are dope hip hop DJ's
