I'm not trying to be a hater here, I swear...
But what is the appeal of those things? They're even more minivan shaped than the previous model Civic Si (EP3??) and those cars were BLASTED for the way they looked. They're EXTREMELY slow too. I just don't get it. Don't get me wrong, I'd have one as a commuter car. I just don't get the appeal of spending as much money as the car cost new in upgrades. It's just not that kind of car to me.

Who buys an econo box to save money on gas, etc, then throws on 2000+dollar wheels, 800 dollar tires, 500 dollar lug nuts, an array of aero parts, suspension and a BBK to contain that massive what - 100hp?
The parts used are very nice, the pictures are amazing, and the execution is well done - but seriously - its a Jazz/Fit.
You must be ridiculously close minded to be a hater in this situation.
Mugen, Spoon, J's Racing, HKS and a whole lot more respectable Japanese tuning companies make performance parts for the Honda Fit/Jazz. Do you hate on them for doing so?
The fact is that the Honda Fit/Jazz has a decent chassis which is pretty well balanced and rigid too. It's also pretty light to start with and easy to strip as well. I originally bought one as a daily driver to save petrol with, in the 1st week of ownership I took it out to the track just for a laugh, and I got just that! A whole lot of laughs. The thing is, it's quite a capable little car on a track, and like moist underpowered cars, you get a lot of full throttle, pedal to the metal time (where in the S2K you'd HAVE to lift off or brake in a few corners) and that makes it a hoot.
It's easy to just be a prick and hate on internet forums, but in reality, it's not that hard to be a little open minded and appreciate as opposed to hate. A lot of people are putting words into Eddie's mouth here. Eddie's not replied to this thread and he didn't at any point say that he bought the Jazz for fuel savings. You could say that pouring money into a Honda Civic eg/ek is a waste of cash too as those cars are also "econo boxes" but ultimately, in the end of the day it's each to their own.

if money savings the reason, dropping so much money into it doesnt make any sense, i would get one as a dd but wouldnt do much to it, not to say this fit isnt well done, its hot.
oh yeah, when people buy their "flat" the parking doesnt comes with it, you have to rent it or buy it as property.
maybe that's why?

money spending on car? you got to be kidding me. are we not tuner? there's always people spending 20 grand on a 3grand civic chassis to make what a mustang/s2k do out of the box. you can say they are stupid but it's all about tuning and ablility to do so. saying this is like saying don't blow money on a s2k just get a ferrari.

You must be ridiculously biased to argue that a Fit/Jazz is such a fantastic performance car. Oh wait - you are - you own a Jazz and evidently you know the guy who owns the one in question (or at the very least are a hardcore sack rider.)
I would never "hate" on a company for making incredibly expensive parts for a completely non-performance oriented car they know people will be suckered into buying because of a name. I also don't loose my mind at the mention of Mugen, Spoon or J's unlike a lot of the Honda fanboys I've met since joining the community.
And as for the track - God forbid you have to BRAKE on a race track upon corner entry. Whoda' thunk?
To address your final point, I DO think that dumping obscene amounts of money into a Honda Civic is idiotic. Honda's RWD performance cars (NSX/S2000) are another story, but thats a whole 'nother argument for a different thread.

I disagree with this entirely, because whats really easy is jumping the generic nutswinging bandwagon and say, "Hawt, badass, hardcore, FTW," or any other thoughtless, generic, nonconfrontational response that anyone can agree with. Expressing opposition or dislike is much more difficult as it requires thought and some form of rebutle on hand, much like this one. It also makes the forums more interesting to read.. so......
