I think that has to do with artistic quality. "Rice" I would say is doing things just to be different, with complete dissregard to asthetic appearance. If your car is blue, blue lights tend to look good. If your car is not blue, they tend to look stupid.

Is there any way you can keep the tachometer yellow / orange and red and change the odometer to blue? That would look cool.
