lol, I don't want to think how much money went into it, but there is quite a lot. I could probably buy a ls600 with just the mods money.

i highly doubt that.
either way, nice whip ! i would change the bumper and wheels though.
and I already mention it's in a rebuild stage, so yes that means new bumper and new wheels.
parts for the ls430 is considerably a lot more expensive than the s2k. My interior with fiber optic headliner

I was gonna leave a disdainful comment on the faux wood steering wheel, but DAMMNNNNNN....^ that is sweeeett.

The steering wheel comes like that stock.
Don't the actual VIPs ride in the back of limos, not drive them? This style confuses me a lot. Also, pretty sure i've never seen an actual VIP riding around in a hella flush car. It's your money do what you want, but I have no idea why anyone would ever enjoy this done to their car.
No you're mistaken. VIP style is big in Japan, so not too many people know about it yet in the USA, but the scene is growing pretty big. VIP style just means basically modding a big 4 door rwd sedan, usually Lexus and Infiniti. It's more meant to just look good and rolling hard dumpt with aggressive fitment while enjoying all the amenities of a big luxury car.
What the hell is 'aggressive' fitment? You realize it looks like something on your car is busted. You can't actually put miles on the car when it's that low with your tires overly cambered? You would go through tires even faster then I do (4500 miles apparently). What are you running like 6 degrees of neg camber?
I have a hell of a time getting up and down normal city streets. Did you at least install air suspension so you can lift it up to get over speed bumps etc? If not, it would seem like you couldn't even drive it. All that work and it just goes to shows and sits. Sorry, I don't get it.
edit: from your article it looks like i'm right
"We’re sure that by now you’re all aware of the VIP backstory, and how the Japanese Yakuza initiated the trend (also called Bippu) by modifying expensive, RWD, large-body Japanese sedans to offer all the luxuries demanded by their most very important persons, while maintaining the ability to blend in with thousands of customized Japanese limousines on the country’s roadways."
so it started with trying to make normal cars look like customized limos. so you take your car make it look like a customized limo and then drive it around...or not i guess if you dump it this low.
alright i'm done. i obviously don't get it....probably never will.

The curtains you see, pillows, etc I only put in for the photo shoot. Import Tuner wanted to capture that whole look, so I don't have it in my car in a normal basis. Do I have air suspension? How about you read my posts or article, as it seems like you're just generally criticizing, while not gathering actual info. Aggressive fitment are wide wheels with low negative offsets. My radius were radius(added metal to look stock) to fit the aggressive wheels.
That's what it originated from, but with VIP style now, it's far from what you quoted. Here is a video of the roll in of a VIP car show this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=ija7oDgCNLI
I appreciate all types of car modding from drag, auto-x, low riders, classics, etc. I suggest you open your eyes a bit and broaden your horizon. My ls430 was never meant to track or drag, it's a big rwd sedan with luxury features. Now, my car has even more luxury features and it still drives like a dream but faster.
Actually I have to say even though the quality of work looks good in the pictures I don't see the value of the work. I mean the car is really less luxurious as it now would ride poorly. Incidentally I felt something similar after going to the Oakland Roadster Show. Lot's of great craftsmanship (really good welds) but I don't see the interest in the results.
there is really no reason to why I did it, other than that's what I like. Not all cars need to be track or drag. I have a supercharged s2000 for that if I feel a need to track. However, when I get my LS430 back, I will be doing a quarter and see what it does.
wahaha so much hate...
anyways, love the LS op, i was considering the y33 or the gs300 before my S but heard y33's are prone to have problems and couldnt find a descent/low mileage gs, would have loved to join the vip scene though.. i surfed vipstylecars forums for hours because i fell in love.. once i see a low mileage gs it will be mine

Seems kind of silly...
