Thanks for the info. The last that I heard was that they couldn't find a local safety21 or cusco bar to test so I still don't think that it has been approved for use at VIR.

Also, to the OP, nice rollbar... none of the criticism was directed towards you. I think that everyone believes that its in the best interest of the driver's safety to bring up potential issues with running a cage on the street so I apologize for the clutter in your thread. With that said, I would still run padding over any rollbar in my street driven car. I didn't with my first s2k, but I will for sure this time around.
thanks again guys, and I don't mind if there's clutter in the thread if it gets more accurate information out to more people (as long as it's accurate information )

i'm gonna try and get some better side profile shots of the car soon when it's clean, cuz it's pretty dirty right now. it's been crazy hot out lately so haven't had the chance to give it the love it deserves yet!

The chances of this car rolling onto its roof on the street are slim, the chances of rolling the car on the track are much higher which he would be wearing a helmet, so I dont get what all the fuss is about, if he was stupid enough too roll it on the street I dont think the stock roll bars are tall enough to stop his head from getting mashed by the road, I rather bump my head onto the roll bar then my face being slid across the tarmac.

Your roll bar looks sexy! Makes me think what it would look like on my berlina.

I bought the rollbar from a dude in Florida who had it in his 07, and he had cut parts of the metal bracket for the passenger mounting spot, but left two holes there to bolt in. With the two holes there, we wedged the seat rail in it's spot than bolted the rollbar down, and it's held in really snug.
Imagine this, but with the outer two holes cut off with a grinder. (No, I didn't do it. The dude I bought it off cut it instead of rewelding the piece.) I'm gonna have to get a welder to refab the portion of the bracket that slopes downward in MY06+.
