This is awful, this could have happened to me even...I also have a 00 GPW, I live in Toronto, Canada...I drove to pick mine up from PA...the love us GPW guys have for our cars is priceless...I also like yourself paid the extra bucks to make sure its in tip top condition...you bought this car with heart...and I know how it feels driving so far for what you really want...you don't deserve this man...you deserve a super clean GPW s2000...and hopefully you get your money back...and get a nice one under 80 000 km...and make sure your 2nd owner
there are a few of the shots that i'm not really happy with
i'm no body repair expert so correct me if i'm wrong:
1) the door (2nd row, left column) - so they are just going to re-skin it (i.e. weld on a new metal piece on the outside) as opposed to giving you a new one and swap your interior pieces over)?
when my civic got hit, my bodyshop guy told me that reskinning a door is not recommended as those are the spots that will prone to start rusting first.
i'm not sure what illinois weather is like but if it's anything like toronto where you get lots of snow and the roads are salted, i'd be weary of my car starting to rust because of this
2) the rocker panel (9th row, 10th row) -- that may not be part of the chassis / main structural member, but i can't imagine cutting it out then welding a new piece on would offer the same rigidity as the original -- not sure how this would play out with time.

From the initial picture, how come the rear 1/4 was replaced? I'm new to s2k's but does that middle piece I guess calling it the "side skirt" just remove?
Goodluck with whatever happens.

?I got a whole new door, they just cut the door away like that to access the guts of the door to swap it over to the new door, easier that way.
