The lip 'is' lower than the bumper...I'd say maybe 3/4"-1"?
I bought the red badges from hardtop guy and it fits right in. The trick is the front bumper badge...they have these reverse lock things so you might have to remove the entire bumper in order to take off the stock.
The lip fit with factory holes on the bottom and 1 screw on each side of the lip
