I dont like particularly like it.
In order to see a thread was updated, you have to go to that specific sub-forum. I don't feel like the build threads and such will actually get viewed any more

If you want to follow particular thread, there's a couple of ways to do it.
You can open a thread you want to follow and click the "Like" button above the first post of the thread....or you can click the "Watch This Topic" button in the upper right hand of the thread page. You can follow all your 'watched' topics and forums on the home page of the forums. There's a 'watched topics' area in the lower right of the page.
Placing the build and 'official' threads in special sub-forum removes them from the primary stream of traffic which contains all the members who have not yet seen the thread yet.
Subjectively speaking, I have never 'liked' or 'watched a topic' on this forum because I don't like getting a bunch of spam, and I feel as though a majority of the members on this forum don't physically 'watch' or 'like' topics either. Additionally, I don't navigate through sub-topics' sub-topics because it becomes slower and less communicative.
The idea of creating a thread is to share an idea or a thought, and sub-topics don't get too much exposure, leading to the snow ball effect (No views ---> no interest from members perusing forum ---> no views).
Generally, I just go onto the gallery and look at what threads are at the top and are 'hot', since they usually contain some pretty neat stuff. I created my thread to get some feedback on my project and see what people have to say, and am upset that the build threads will only get a small fraction of the views from new members than they were previously accumulating.
Once most members are aware that the subforums exist, the traffic will return. It's about adjusting to something that's more efficient IMO.
Plus I'm growing to like the idea that all my favorite builds are easy to find in one place. And I don't actively watch topics due to my aversion to spam as well
