car looks great overall.

the wing clearly serves a purpose but for street driving... it's a bit loud. i suppose there isn't much flexibility (in terms of quickly removing it for street and installing it for track) since it's chassis mounted?

My understanding is that assuming that there is no flex, the longer a mount like that is, the more downforce it makes. For two reasons, one it puts the wing further up and further back so it is getting more flow, and not getting air that is being broken up by the roof of the car, and two, it acts like a lever. You are wrong in some respects.

The taller the wing is, the cleaner the air which means the downforce increases.

However, your lever analogy is wrong. If you're talking about a taller wing, you wouldn't get a linear improvement in downforce with a taller stand. The stand itself does not act as a multiplier for downforce, either. The longitudinal distance (horizontal distance) from the wing pressure center to the rear wheel is an effective lever and you want to MINIMIZE that distance because the further back from the rear wheel the wing is, the greater the TORQUE/moment around that rear wheel, causing front end lift.

You want the rear downforce to be applied directly above the rear wheels so that it minimizes front end left. However, that is not practical as the wing would have to be very tall to get into the air stream at that point, so most designs move it backwards to the end of the trunk area.
