ive seen lots of variations of the S much faster than the other for no explained reason. Saab9-3 had a suzuka that was stupid fast stock.. no explanation, maybe Hal's Rio is a ringer or something but it's definately faster than any of the pre 04's around here.

This might be a stupid question but what do you gain from an 00' ECU on 04' ? I is not like you can use the 9K redline.

uummmmm..... yea.. you do use the 9k redline.. thats the whole point of running the ecu.

it was under my impression that you cannot run 9k on the 04. 8500 was the max to run 'safely' on stock heads and bottom.

If it was that easy to bump the revs then everyone would do it, there has to be another reason for the 00' ecu. Unless he is bumping his revs to 8500.
