What are you talking about?... i'm going to keep the boost totally stock, I swear.
Seriously though... that is the first that I have heard of autos having a problem, over on E90post they think you are crazy for driving a manual. I'll keep that in mind though.

I'm not sure about other parts of the country, but here in Vegas, those autos are dropping like flies. I work for Desert Auto Group, and our BMW store has had to buy back 12 335i's that were auto, because of the tranny.
looks great - can't wait to see how it turns out!
here's where I first heard about the oil cooler:
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes...test_drive.html
At the end of a couple enervating loops in both cars, we're surprised by three things: the fact that neither car could run away from the other, that neither demonstrates a clear edge in handling, and-yikes!-the BMW's oil temperature is near the peg at 280 F-40 degrees shy of system shutdown. This isn't a hot racetrack; it's a cool, 75-degree misty morning. Munich: We have a problem. This type of running, lots of low-speed-corner exits with both turbos spooling cooks the oil cooling those turbo bearings, and our car has no oil cooler. BMW installed them only on manual Sport models until March, when automatics with the Sport package started getting them. There is no recall or factory-sponsored retrofit, but enthusiast owners should consider installing an oil cooler.

My car is a 6MT so I have an oil cooler unlike some of the first few batches of automatics that were produced. That event where the two cars were tested was sponsored by INFINITI and the 335, which was an older auto without an oil cooler, was provided by INFINITI... hmmm.... do you think its a coincidence that the car was one of the early models produced without an oil cooler?
That review was a joke, the only bad thing that they could say about the bimmer was the oil temp issue that has been addressed with the oil cooler in later cars. I thought that the edmunds.com review was more realistic, but I guess when you label your magazine "THE KING IS DEAD!" you are trying to sell more magazines.

but my S2000 with the top down always puts a smile on my face
