Default painting vs-xx centers..

I finally got off my lazy ass and took apart my VSXX to paint the centers and polish the lips..

but I'm a bit on the fence about painting them..
I honestly don't know what color to paint them.

I don't want to do full polish face and lip.. just lip only.
for the face, I was thinking matte black or some sort of darker color, since my car is silverstone.

exactly what my car looks like^

Although all of you probably know what it looks like..

that's a VSXX wheel..

I actually wanted to trade these for some 17x9 /9.5 +45/+38 RPF1s.. but I don't think anyone has em currently..

anyone have any suggestions?

I'd say a dark gunmetal, not black. Maybe something semi metallic like the paint finish. They would look sick with the lip nice a polished

Ya, I figured something dark to contrast with the car..
They're full polished right now and I put em on the car but it didn't look too good.

Paint them silverstone or a gunmetal color.

Sand blast the centers for a mat aluminum finish, then clear coat or anodize to protect them. Leave the lip high polished.
Whatever you decide, just don't powder-coat.

There've been numerous cases where rigidity of the wheels have been weakened from powdercoating process. If you street drive them, it's likely that nothing will happen, but once you start tracking the car, the wheels may not be able to withstand the pressure.

From everything I've read, the powder coating thing is more of an urban legend. The temp at which powder coating is baked at isn't high enough to truly effect the rigidity of a wheel and change the properties of the metal.
