PIC REQUEST: 225/45/17 on a 17x9.5
having trouble deciding on a 235/40/17 or a 225/45/17 for a 9.5 inch wheel. a pic of a 225/45 would REALLY help me
if anyone has a pic close to the wheel from the side and back/front that would be awesome! TIA
edit: this will be for my fronts

i already have 2 245/40's in my garage, i dont want to get into flaring or anything like that, i already cut the inner fender lips so there is max clearance instead of rolling maybe ill just go 245 all around

quick response ftw thanks man that doesnt look too good i guess cause the high sidewall. why cant dunlop make 225/40! ugh

Just do 245's all around, and pull the fronts a hair. It's not that bad... Of course, if you ever go into a driveway or take a bump with the wheel turned....

(I smile cause that's exactly why I ended up having to flare my fronts)
*Edit*
I just realized, if you just did a 235/40 on the front, it'd be roughly the same stretch you had with 215s on a 9. (it'd actually be a tad less, but I digress) Think of how a 225 looks on a 9. It's the same thing. 9.5 compared to 9 is (obviously) 12mm wider, and going 235 adds (again, obviously) 10mm over 225. The look will be roughly the same.
Which, imho, isn't bad:
hard to see, but that's a 225 on a 9 up front.
yeah well my driveway isnt the easiest to get into, so i have to take that into consideration, im probably going to go with a 235/40 honestly, just because i did a 215/45 on a 9 (cool that you remembered) and i know how well it fit thanks for the info though. the last thing id want is to ruin my fenders did you have to get new ones or did flaring them make the mark from the wheel go away?

Well, I had DrJekyll to flare the ones on the car, post damage. I don't like admitting it, but even though it worked out ok on the one that got damaged, it is actually sliiiiiiightly different than the other side.
To be clear, this was NO fault of DrJekyll's work.
The metal had been yanked out where it was folded under from being previously "halfway" rolled. The tire grabbed the piece underneath and just yanked it out. When Aaron folded it back under and hammered it flat, it didn't fold completely straight. I figured it would happen.
All that being said, it still turned out reeeeeeeeally well imo. I think the only reason I see the difference between the sides is it's my car. They are still very very close in appearance.
