I tried searching but since the search engine doesn't allow 3 char words (j's) I was unable to find anything specific with just "heat shield" So does anyone have a picture of the j's heat shield installed? I was under the impression that it was similar to the cf heat shield that rick's sells but I think I may be wrong. Pics would help a lot, thanks.

Also, is it a worthwhile mod?

could it be the heat shield made for the J's Torque Dampener?

if so, then it's a heat shield for the stock header cut so that the dampener can run across to the engine.

That's what I was afraid of, thanks. Oh well, I guess I'll keep looking.

Yeah thats the one I have. They do have a CF radiator shield thats not available to the public yet. Its on their race cars.. Heres an older picture of mine...
BTW you can use an aftermarket header. I did..Not in this picture though. Trying to make it smog legal.

The J's heat shield is meant to be used with the J's damper. It does not fit the Spoon, or Toda headers. To be used with the stock header, the upper heat shield must be removed.

Thats incorrect. I had the Spoon header and it fit fine with no problems. Your probably talking about the OEM heat shield which will fit also. I know, been there done that. I had both shields with the header. I even cut the OEM to fit the damper. Are you talking about the bolt on header shield itself (one that attaches to the header?) Didnt know J's even made one.

I have a Toda header, I ordered the damper only, and shield combo on a old GB from BPT. The J's shield does not fit with the Toda. I sold my shield to another S2ki member (veilside ap1 I believe) with the Spoon. He later replied to me that it hit the #4 primary tube, just like the Toda header. Another member with the J's shield (dms2k) has a stock header, who told me the J's shield would not fit without first removing the upper shield. If it works with your Spoon header, so be it. I was going from another member's info.

As far as the J's damper fitting very well, that's on another thread. (fits like crap IMHO)
