They do deform, just not that much. But if you deform something, even if it's a small amount, many times over, they do heat up. Yes, you are right that the brakes I'm sure have something to do with it, but I think the majority of it is from the constant stresses being applied to the wheels.
And the tires do deform to dissipate some of the energy, but the wheel is used as the connection point between the tire and the car so that the car doesn't go flying off the road.

oh and i forgot to tell you, i was working with AKF the other week. their cameras are smaller and nicer than yours. you should tell ray to open up his budget.

Oh... and it's higher resolution and the camera itself converts the images to JPEG's wtihout having to use the MIKRON program... A$$ Muncher... lol.
