Thanks for the compliments on the drop guys. Unfortunately it was too low for the wheels I was running and my fender was damaged so this past week I raised up the car to get it to stop rubbing and I was successful but its nowhere near as low as in the photos I took before. I am taking the car in this week to have the fender repaired and repainted for about $250. I'll post more pics when I get that done and wash the car so you guys can see it. It's about 1.5 finger gap but its still a very good drop over stock and it hasn't rubbed at all since I raised it which here in Austin the roads suck in a lot of places so the fact that it hasn't rubbed gets the old thumbs up on my end. Not as low as I woulda liked it but still low enough to look HOT and be drivable!

Just a quick question...
You said it now has 1.5 finger gap..now is that 1.5 finger gap all around (both fronts and the rears??) or did you just have the fronts 1.5 finger gap and had the rears drop the same distance the fronts have? I think the S2000 have different distance (gap) on the fronts and the rears right?

I probably have the same wheels as you...Keep me posted on any rubbing please thanx~

Yes; thats 1.5 all around. The springs (and all springs) should have 2 short ones and 2 long ones. The short ones go in the front I believe and the longer ones go in the rear (it may be the other way around; I Can't recall). Because one set of springs is shorter than the other the car continues to have a staggered stance where the rear looks a bit higher than the front. The gap should be the same all the way around.

You do have the exact same tire sizes as me. I would recommend that if you are going to drop your car you don't drop it more than 1" with 18s OR you get adjustable springs so you can see what kind of a drop works best. When I had it much lower as in the pics before it rubbed so badly that the metal fender body piece seperated from the wheel liner and BENT causing me to have to take the car in to a body shop to have the fender repaired and repainted for $250 Learn from my mistake...don't go too low with 18s!!

I have a coilover system installed. I'm preparing to drop my car soon. 1.5 finger gap is my plan but if I'm still a little worried about rubbing during sharp turns. Please let me know if the current setting shows signs or rubbing. Thanx

i believe the long ones go in front.

i'm so sorry your fender got damaged. are you offsets proper? I am dumped on my Tein RA's with minimal rubbing. But, I am also running different wheels, and stiffer suspension.

raising it a couple threads is probably best anyways.

HondaS2000Tuner:

What coilovers? 1.5 finger gap should be ok...how are the roads in your area? Here they are pretty bad. I am just short of a two finger gap right now, and it still rubs when I hit a very solid bump, but its very rare that that occurs and to be honest there is a huge differance between 1 finger gap or 3/4 finger gap and 1.5-2 finger gap. One with 18s rubs too much, 1.5 rubs sometimes, 1.75 rubs rarely, and I'd bet 2 rubs never. When I installed the wheels I had about a 3 finger gap so lets say I dropped it 1-1.5 inches...

I have the TEIN RS Coilovers. I haven't changed the ride height yet but will soon after I have the tires mounted on the new wheels.

Gosh, I never rubbed THAT much?! We don't exactly have great roads here in Houston. Are the offsets on the wheels further out than my Works?

Ess:

The wheel offsets are 18X8/18X8.5 I believe running 255s in the rear and 225 in the front...

The roads ed me here - too many bumps, but it still a good looking drop so I'm happy...I'll post pics when I get it back from the body shop this afternoon
