When you get to the bottom of the Dragon at Deals Gap just make a left onto 28 and ride that out to the dam and back.

Wow! Very nice pictures. I went there a few years ago. The Deals Gap stretch is simply amazing - non-stop turns and elevation changes in its 11 miles, just as advertised. Driving on it is like sitting in the front row of the scariest roller coaster... but being in control and w/o the safety net. At the end of a stretch, my heart was pounding; my legs didn't feel like my own as they were both numb and shaking uncontrollably at the same time; the brake rotors were glowing and in desperate need to cool down. But all I was thinking was to turn around immediately and do it again! What an absolute thrill!
I headed home via Blue Ridge Pkwy, and that is an amazing road as well. Kind of like the Dragon but with high speed sweepers instead that went on for 40 to 50 miles (?)
Thanks for pics. They certainly bring back memory.

Great pics! I was just there this past April, and I'm organizing a trip for the local auto group this Sept/October.
