Sorry, no picture...but I had 18" Volks without lowering, then sold the wheels to a friend who has coilovers. Without a doubt, the wheels look so much better on a lowered car. You may be able to stand stock setup for a little while, but once you see other lowered S's next to yours you will bring it down! That has been my experience, anyway.
It will look fine until you see a dropped S with the same wheels next to you.

Drop it like it's hot...
Aren't Espelir's some of the lowest springs with Skunk2?
Try Eibachs I guess... I think those are a little higher. And narrower tires.
Last solutions should be fender rolling and raising!!!!

Stock ride height here with the same size Volks as you. Making the car handle worse for a 1"-2" drop is a no brainer for me. Plus, I do all the "tucking" I need to around every turn on a back road. If I was lowered, instead of tucking, I'd be bumpsteering into a tree. I don't see the need to lower the car as I track my car, and the suspension is that good from the factory, it definetly out weighs my talent at the track. I do understand that many people are out there for the "Look" and in that case, if you got the money for Volks, then surely you have the money to shell out for a decent susp. that will lower the way you want. If my car was just a street car with a once or twice a year track day, I'd definetly have a set of PSS9's from Bilstein. But since I'm looking to track pretty regularly this season, I'm gonna get everything I can from the OEM kit, then move on to KW V.3's or maybe a high dollar set up if the funds are there. Good luck with what ever you decide.

BTW, I think NFRs2000NYC's car looks awesome without being lowered.

Wow your car looks damn good and I agree with you about the stock suspension riding better than lowered springs. The money is there but my wife will kill me if I try to get another high price mod right now. Plus we just bought a new house (with a Garage thank god) that knocked a chunk out of spending money. What are these PSS9's from Bilstein that you mention? How much and where can I get a set? I do want the looks but want to keep my car riding perfect so maybe I will think about a quality Coilover setup. Thanks for all the advice and I agree that NFRs2000NYC's car looks very good not lowered.

Good news then, www.shox.com sells the Bilsteins at an incredible price($1300+/-), but are sold out at the moment, so you have time to convince the wife while they restock. Bilstein is a really good suspension company, I'd say better than most Teins and BC's thus Amuse uses Bilstein on all their cars.

BTW, I agree that a house w/gar. is 10 times better than any susp. kit.

BTW, everyone will tell you lower the car, but if you like the way it handles, drives, performs with the OEM suspension, that's what matters most. Remember, you can't see the car from the driver seat, so what happens there should always have the biggest impact on the mods you do. Most people telling you to lower your car, mod their own cars for other peoples visual appeal, not for themselves as the driver of the car.
