I don't have too many pics of my clear bra, but here's a few:
In the first two pics, my clear bra doesn't go too far up the fender, in the third pic, I got an upgraded clear bra on the fenders and hood that goes further up.
In general, the clear bra itself too visible. When you're looking at it in person it looks like a fine scratch mark that goes across the front of the car. In pictures though its harder to see than in person.
On white cars, depending on the brand you put on, the clear bra can make the car look like a different shade of white. Specifically 3M Clear bras I've heard can make white cars appear a different shade where the clear bra is applied.
BTW- For anyone in the DC Metro area interested in getting a clear bra, PM Lil Raja, he did mine and is a great guy to deal with. He's a former (and maybe soon to be again) S2000 owner too.
My car had one when I bought it. The previous owner let some dirt get in the edge, so it looked like a brown scratch across the middle of my fenders/hood. It was very visible. I took the fender/hood one off, and just left it on the bumper.
It is very difficult to capture a properly installed "3M film" (or the like) with a camera. Only in certain light and at certain angles can you actually see the film and mostly, all you'll see is the line at the edge between the filmed and non-filmed areas.
On older cars, you may see a bit of yellowing. Various brands of film will yellow differently, some won't yellow at all, but this sort of thing can take many, many years to show up.
White is more noticeable since it transmits (and reflects) most of the visible light spectrum as opposed to black, which absorbs most of it. Any kind of covering, no matter how clear, will capture some of the light, so what comes out, is "filtered" compared to just looking at bare white paint.
Here is a "filmed" white-ish coffee cup for your entertainment:
