Post your custom interior pics here
Absolutely, Pete - like to see that c/f treatment you've done as well in person - very nicely done. I guess I'm not sure what you mean about 'functional' with the blue / black orientation as I have it?
I like ruexp67's and mine equally, but I will say that i was staying with a 'blue insert / black perimeter ' thing with my seats / doors; putting the blue on the top and bottom retained that line a bit better in my mind. Plus, I tend to grip the wheel more on the sides than on the top, except when I take Decker canyon for a run...

Your interior is really clean. What did you install where the coin holder was?

[QUOTE=Kodokan_4,May 19 2005, 09:37 PM]I was referring to the way some race cars have (usually flat) black on the hood, dash. or top of the steering wheel to reduce glare.

Oh, right! That makes absolute sense. Thanks for the explanation. Those are indeed seat heaters - Considering moving them, but for now, I like them.
That is the display for my radar detector. The Valentine V-1's 'concealed display', when taken apart, is only about a 1/2" deep. It fits on the lid perfectly (the outward arch of the display follows that of the lid exactly). It also allows full operation of the lid, and keeps the LEDS out of view from those outside the car. Not an ideal solution, as I'd prefer it to be located in a 'head's up' position, but I like it. I have been going back and forth between leaving it there and putting right above the dome light...
Decisions, decisions. I swear, most of the work I do on my car nowadays is revisions to my own previous projects!
Here's a close-up of that area:

My steering wheel is from Rick's too.
you have your dash trim painted silver, right? It looks that way from the picture. How did you get this done- what type of paint did you use? Difficult to do? It looks nice- are you as happy with it in person as you thought you'd be?

I've always wondered why people don't do this more often (at least I hadn't seen it before). Am I correct that you have just the display for the radar detector there in the cup holder, and then you have it wired to have the detector part of the device somewhere else? If so, where did you put the rest? I think this is a great idea, what you've done. If I weren't so lazy I might do this, too. I HATE the way a radar detector looks in the window of our car. Any car, really. Nice job.
Oh, and thanks for the props!

I really like the matching texture around the seat heater switches, and the way they are recessed. I also like the way you described the relationship of your steering wheel color pattern to your other custom pieces. Nice attention to detail.
I see lots of people throwing tons of [crap] mods into their interior, with the idea that more is better, but rarely do I see a modified interior that flows really well. It's definitely not easy to do.

[QUOTE=Kodokan_4,May 20 2005, 03:08 PM]The workmanship of your mods is excellent! Do you do the work yourself, or use a shop?
