and finally some information on their dry carbon hood...
they have 2 versions available , one for the street with a hood latch, so i'm assuming that i can run it safely without hood pins! and the other race, with hood pins instead of the latch and weighing only 2.3kg, in compared to 3.7kg for the street version, and 8.4kg the stock hood weight! the race version starts off about 3 grand, then add another 6 hundred for the street version, it says something about being high rigid type, so i guess you're paying for more than just a hood latch, then you can add a 4 coat clearing coat to protect from ultraviolet radiation for a mere 500 bucks, WTF? is that really needed?

with today's rates the 198,000 yen amuse r1 would cost about 1,640 dollars!

We gladly import Amuse products from Japan and will beat any legitimate price out there on Amuse items. (the prices we beat are the final prices after all freight charges, to your door)

s2k_fever: Keep in mind that the US price you mention for the R1 would only be if you bought it in Japan, with no shipping anywhere, and it would be before the 5% sales tax. Also keep in mind that air freight is quite pricey for large dimensional boxes, and that air and ocean freight prices for large items from Japan usually have high fixed costs attached to them (handling fees and such from freight forwarders), making it only cost effective if a lot of items are shipped at the same time. Oh, and did you consider the wire transfer fees and 2-3 yen loss during currency conversion? Just a few of the many costs involved, to actually do what you were saying.

If you happen to find a way around expensive freight costs for a single large item like a hood or exhaust, please email me, because I'm always looking for cheaper ways to import products.
