I feel similiar, which is why I didn't go with black but there are other cars like MugenKid who had non-black faced wheels with stepped lip that looked good.

im sure your wheels are gonna turn out great, jake. and im sure itll look very classy. best of luck. lookin forward to seein it done.

Different wheel, but you can get an idea on how they would look.

There are generally two types of people who mod cars: ones who do stuff to gain recognition from others (think a 1970s hooptie, raised, on 26" chrome wheels), and those who change up their parts because they like them. Played out or not, these refinished LMs are for personal taste and personal aesthetic appeal. The gunmetal/polished lip look may not be trend-setting, but will last a long time. Lips with other colors might have initial shock value, but would get boring after awhile. I, for one, love the look of the gunmetal/polished lip for a clean appearance. Just an honest appearance, not trying to be something it's not. Not tacky or gaudy like so many "modded" vehicles I see around here.

Props & keep us posted on the project!
