the car is meant to be driven, not babied like some sort of museum piece.

I've enjoyed this car way more than most people will ever get to enjoy theirs...and stress free enjoyment at that.

must be nice to live in la-la land. You don't ever have to go to a track or race it to really enjoy an S2000. Sitting shotgun in my own car while in Status buckets while my wife drives is probably more enjoyable than any track day you'll ever have in your life. Attitudes like yours piss me off.

Considering the fact that my car was my DD for two years before I started tracking it and I put upwards of 70k miles on it during that time, I completely understand. I've been there and it was great. No harm there.

But going from that to tracking the car...it's on a completely different level. Enjoying the car to it's true potential has some significant gratification.

Let me ask you this - if your car was to disappear tomorrow and you were't to get anything back (no insurance money, no nothing)...would you feel that your money was well spent? If my car was to go, and I didn't get anything back...the money would be well spent in my eyes. $20k+ of satisfaction to me.
