A necessary evil I suppose. Doesn't really detract, or add to the overall styiling of the S2000 IMO. In fact, I believe that they should make it a standard requirement worldwide, just as day time running lights should be made universal, by all manufacturers, in all countries.

The rear fog light would really help out up here in Canuck land, where fog coupled with blowing snow reduces visibility over the fall/winter months. The problem with the rear fog, as I recall from when I lived in the UK is the over-use of them when not required. It was always a peeve of mine following someone, on a perfectly clear day who had their rear fog light on. It is friggin bright, and the pics don't do it's intensity any justice.

Maybe I missed something (didn't read all the posts on this thread), but it sounds like you still don't know what purpose the light serves. If Honda put it on, then it is there for a reason - why don't you call your dealer and ask what it does?

I'd like to know what it is for.

In Germany every car needs to be equipped with such a rear fog light.

In heavy rain or fog such a light helps other drivers behind you to take notice of you. And trust me such a light saved some lifes on the road! Especially on the Autobahn.

Now that makes sense. Is that what it is for? If so, then I like it.

I think they're a good idea. I know driving in heavy fog makes it difficult to see lights when they are just on and not the brakes.

I actually believe there's an Oldsmobile model that has fogs on the rear bumper that are on with the front ones. I see them all the time around here b/c everyone thinks they have to have their fogs on, and it's annoying.

But in the dense fog it's a lifesaver.

Yeah, I live in Ohio too, so I'm not sure about that being illegal here comment.
