rims and hardtop, mayn pics! warning!
I'm actually kind of surprised you managed to get pics of your car in downtown San Francisco without many cars or people walking around!!
thanks for all the kind words guys.
actually, there were kind of a lot of people around (not like a weekday, of course), but most of the spots i stopped were bus stops or no parking zones or whatnot. i also photoshopped out a lot of other cars.
i just love the hardtop, and love the s2k in general. it is growing on me all the time. i've always thought it was a car that looked far far better in person than pictures, so i've been trying to capture what it is about the shape that "isn't photogenic," per se.
the tires match the o.d. of the stock tires pretty much spot on; 225/45/17 up front and 245/40/17 in back. i know everyone will say the ratio of grip front to back is screwed up, but i disagree, having measured the contact patches on the stock tires and on these... but more on that later. they're bfg gforce t/a kd, and so far, i like them a lot. they aren't broken in so i haven't pushed it, but amazingly, given the shorter sidewalls, i actually think they're quieter and maybe even a bit smoother. definitely more tramlining; i think absolute grip is up, but can't say for sure until i break 'em in.
