I want those wheels in 15x7 for my ITR. It is not in your head, if the new wheel/tire setup is 5 lbs lighter like you say, there will be a notice-able difference in acceleration and response.
I have two sets of rims for my ITR (both are 15" diameter). One set weighs 4 lbs more per wheel/tire than the other. With the lighter rims, I averaged almost 0.5 seconds faster than the heavier rims in the 1/4 mile.
