I just showed my Girlfriend your pictures, JustBlaze... she went nuts over them and is now more determined than ever to track down a breeder.

Problem is that I am worried about the higher medical risk associated with this breed.

English Bulldogs are awesome dogs. Lots of personality and if you have a small house or an busy lifestyle (notice I didn't say active) they can make great companions.

They do have a higher tendency for respiratory and other ailments and it is extremely important that you find a good breeder. The good news is that the internet has made it much, much easier to research breeds and breeders.

My wife and I are contemplating an English and we've been doing a ton of research. Here's a couple websites that you might find helpful.

Bulldog Club of America
English Bulldogs

I've got a few more if you want them but both those sites should lead you to some other good reference sites.

I've also found a really good breeder here in S. CA if you're interested. She's not cheap but she's bread several champion dogs (including the bad boy that was on the show Jake & the Fatman) and her dogs have great personalities with few health issues. One of my co-workers has a 5 year old male from her and he's just awesome. Let me know through PM and I'll get you her contact number if you're interested.

Thanks for the spelling correction and additional photos. Beautiful dogs. I'd love a Vizsla as my research indicates the same things you said (highly intelligent with great personalities) but I live in a townhome that I don't think would be fair to limit a dog that wants, or needs depending on your perspective, that much exercise and room.

Cool dogs though
