S2000 next to a Z4...

OK they are NOT EXACTLY alike if you look at every little tiny detail. Glancing at these two cars you can see how similar they are and wonder where they got the ideas for the sleek design, etc. Its our car with a BMW twist to it.
What's up with this? I live in Germany and haven't seen a Z4 yet. What gives? I was just at the Bimmer dealer a couple days ago too.
Was this one of those cars that got released in the U.S. first? Kinda like the new Beetle?
For the record, I see so many ugly Z3s here that it hurts. The Z4 will be a welcomed change to such a poop-butt looking car.

My boss drove a Z4 3.0 today and loved it! He used to own a Z3 and says the two cars are world's apart. He loved the handling and speed of the car and is thinking of getting one in 2003 - He has a Huey Helicopter to pay for this year - its tough for some people!
The look of the car is growing on me but I still wouldnt swap it for my red S - there is no comparison for looks in my opinion.

suzukablus2k: This is actually my second time here. All I can say is that Germany is beautiful, but K-Town & Ramstein are way to crowded. It is also such a hassle to do anything here. With every new terrorist threat we get to deal with another detour here, car inspection there, building closed here... I tell ya, the terrorists wanted to bother everyone & they sure are succeeding...
Besides that, when I'm off work and rowing the gears down my twisty back roads I seem to forget it all.
That and my little run with an E46 M3 yesterday on the bahn are what make this assignment sweet!

Air Force at Ramstein. Sembach is still open, but kind of minimally manned.
Don't worry about missing it here. I've got absolutely no TV, a 128k ISDN connection & the Germans decided to close the road that goes from my house to work. Not to mention the cold winds that are unbearable & the cow farm that is 1.5 blocks away from my house. Also, their is never never never any parking anywhere remotely close to work... You have to park in this lot that sits behind the golf course with a sign that says "Ramstein Air Base is not responsible for damages caused by golf balls. Parking here is at your own risk." Now did I mention that the road to my house was closed? Not rerouted, not detoured, not 1 lane closed... it was simply closed! In order to use an alternate dirt road, we have to pay a toll to use it! Let me restate that, I have to pay to use a DIRT road to get to work because the Germans closed the primary outlet out of my town. I need a helicopter to get to work or drive in the complete opposite direction of my destination... Besides all this, I love Germany!
