IMHO, it certainly doesn't help the look of the car. Even if it did help aerodynamically, I'd hate to have that thing hanging out in my rear view mirror all the time. The term prostitution comes to mind.

Sorry to inflict my opinion on the proud owner - but I'm thinking ugly -

I'm one of those people who don't even like the OEM rear spoiler becase it takes away from the clean lines of the 3rd brake light, I do like the OEM front spoiler though.

When I describe the S2000 to people who don't know much about it, I call it a "race car with just enough amenities to make it useful on the street." IMO, a functional wing looks entirely proper on an S2000.

When in Japan, I talked to an owner who has such a wing and tracks his car often - he said there's a noticable improvement with it.

The specific car in question:

As a practical matter, though, don't many people think our car needs more rear downforce at speed? What's another solution?

IMO if you're going to put a giant wing on your car and you do track it quite often then I think there should be race stickers/numbers/magnets or something so that it doesn't appear that you're just trying to 'rice out' the car.

Just a thought.....

It looks like there should be some books, plants, and other knick-knacks on there.

When Greg Stevens was in Japan, he talked to the Mugen engineers about the rear wing. They said the car needed more downforce, and designed a very effective rear spoiler. I think Greg bought the Mugen spoiler. You might want to search for it. It looks better than what's shown in these pictures.
