it was some smart ass that decided to cut us off from a lane while we were merging from the on-ramp....

good news: i've purchased a brand new '01 Silver/Red S2000 today and delivery is in two days~

That sounds like a awesome deal. I got mine a year and a half ago and on the road it was almost $57K CDN (including taxes, freight, PDI etc.), bearing in mind that MSRP is $48K CDN.

Very sorry about the old car, but like everyone said what matters is that you're okay now.

Congratulations on the new car, best of luck with it.

About your question, from the little that I know, when you purchase the car at invoice (or at MSRP : Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) you would have purchased it at the price that Honda recommends to its dealers to sell the car for, in the US, MSRP is $32,740.

Congratulations on your new stook! Glad to see you're staying with it. They're now saying that my S2k is totalled, so I will be shopping for a replacement as well.

Invoice refers to the cost that the dealer paid for the car. It's possible to get cars for under invoice when theres high supply/low demand(dealer needs the space on the lot or needs another tick in the 'sold' column) or dealer incentive rebates (money the manufacturer pays the dealer) or customer rebates (money the manufacturer pays you, the buyer).

FWIW, the invoice on the 2001 S2000 is $29,173 (including desitination) so the dealer is still making c.$3500 even when selling at MSRP.

That's it man, get back on the horse as fast as you can! Nice to see that the car can hold up to a real intense roll. Glad to hear your better. Tons of luck.
