About your question, from the little that I know, when you purchase the car at invoice (or at MSRP : Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) you would have purchased it at the price that Honda recommends to its dealers to sell the car for, in the US, MSRP is $32,740.

Invoice refers to the cost that the dealer paid for the car. It's possible to get cars for under invoice when theres high supply/low demand(dealer needs the space on the lot or needs another tick in the 'sold' column) or dealer incentive rebates (money the manufacturer pays the dealer) or customer rebates (money the manufacturer pays you, the buyer).
FWIW, the invoice on the 2001 S2000 is $29,173 (including desitination) so the dealer is still making c.$3500 even when selling at MSRP.
