Well, some people like to keep their setups unique. Kinda sucks when you spend alot of time researching and experimenting, then all of a sudden, your setup isn't unique anymore cuz everyone is buying the same wheels and specs. Look at Enkei RPF-1 +45's. People used to be scared to run those. Now everyone has them. Great looking wheel...great offsets...but no longer unique.
I've given out my specs cuz i could care less...but i've already received numerous PM's from people asking me what they have to do to run my specs.....i predict seeing 17x9 +22 with rear overs popping up alot more now.

Yeah, it's funny that you quote tire sizes per wheels width for a company that suggests wheels offsets way above +45, see the irony there?
yes, I'll agree, 245's are doable on 9" wheel, but on the flip side, AP2's come stock with 245 tires because the engineers at Honda deemed that tire size as appropriate for this car on that size rim. So, if you're upsizing wheel width from stock, don't you think you should upsize tire width?
IMO, that's the way I look at it, I'm not bitter, but I've seen some wide wheels with less than adaquete tire widths pretty frequently of late. This is NOT a VIP style car, so IMO, the stretched tuck look doesn't work, it is a performance car after all.

I would much prefer to run a "narrower" but proper 245 than a shitty 265. Once again each manu has different recomended specs per model tire, what works for one might work for another: example RS2's.
Also, I think you are over estimating the weight differences of a 9, 9.5 and 10, they are almost irrelevent, chances are your driving isn't even consistent enough to quantify these differences.
I can't say I've checked the weight between them to know, but IMO unsprung weight is the most important to keep lightweight.
I also don't really think I'd ever put "shitty" tires on an S2000. They come with fairly decent tires from the factory and I wouldn't do anything cheaper or with less grip so it's never been a concern of mine. Do S2000 owners put less grippier tires than RE050s'? I didnt' realize that
Must be an SD thing.
And yes, you're probably right about my driving consistency, but the people that matter that run low offset wheels it would. J's Racing, ASM, Tracy Sports, etc. So it's cool to emulate their set ups for a street car that gets driven on sub $1200 wheel tucking coilovers but never at the track?
I'm not pointing fingers at you Euro, just at the general publics view on modding S2000's.

I see most people on the forum thinking they are bad ass with low offset 9" wheels but they're running 245 tires. That ricer IMO. Tires give grip, if you are true uber bad ass JDM you wouldn't be skimping on tires so you can brag about your low offset wheels.
nobody here is SKIMPING on anything, if anything they are paving the way and showing everyone else what is possible!
your comment is irrelevant and will be thrown out!!!!
LOW OFFSET FTW!!!!!
