I had this Momo F-16 shift knob left over from a previous car (an Audi, which had lots of wood on the interior trim), and I thought I'd try it in my S2K. I like its feel -- the shape lends itself to both the pushes and pulls of the shift gate pattern very nicely. (Originally, it had a big Momo logo right where the heel of your hand hits it, but a little woodworking eliminated that.)

This is one of those universal fit knobs, held in place with a rubber adaptor over the end of the shifter and three set screws. Although it has a trim ring that screws onto the base, I'm not using it so that the knob can sit as low as possible.

I guess this proves that you don't have to be limited to Honda or third-party knobs with the right thread pattern -- so there's a whole universe of choices out there.

I think it would probably look better in carbon fiber in this car (the knob is the only wood there, after all), but it sure feels good, and it doesn't heat up as much in the sun. Besides, it makes a great pick-up line: "Hey, baby, wanna feel my knob?"

And don't you just hate it that every little speck of dust shows up in flash photos? HPH
